Car Flag Mount installation guide
Step 1: Insert the bolt through the slot of the window clip, with one washer on either side of the curve of the clip. Hand tighten the bolt but leave it just loose enough that you can still slide it along the slot.
Step 2: Clean Your window that you want to fasten the mount to
Before mounting YOUR X50 Flag Mount make sure you clean the window you desire your mount to be fastened to. The X50 Flag Mount has a special design with an industrial strength suction cup incorporated into the mount to ensure that even if you forget the mount is fastened to your window and you roll down the window the mount will stay on the window and you will not lose your Mount. However the slightest amount of dust and debris can loosen the suction cup seal inhibiting the effectiveness. So grab a bottle of Windex, and a few paper towels and clean off the window before you start installing your mount.
Step 3: Clean off the Industrial Strength Suction Cup
As stated in step 1, even the slightest amount of dust and debris can loosen the seal of the suction cup making it less effective. Make sure you clean off the suction cup as well in case particles of dust and debris got stuck to the suction cup during shipment or assembly.
Step 4. Roll Down window, and place rubber window protector over top of window
We know how much people value their vehicles and would want nothing to damage and do any harm to your vehicle, so we incorporated a small rubber window protector to protect your window from the aluminum mount from rubbing on the window. Also since ever window thickness and angle of curvature is different this rubber piece also ensures that there is a snug fit between the window clip and the window to eliminate rattle. So roll down your window, grab the small rubber piece included in the packaging and place it over the top of the window before installing mount.
Step 5: Slide window clip on window over the rubber window protector with the round face of the mount facing forward, with wings and flag pointing back towards the back of the car
After you place the rubber window protector over the window grab your X50 Flag Mount and slide the window clip over the window on top of the rubber window protector. Make sure you tilt the mount back as you slide window clip over window so the suction cup does not get stuck to window until the window clip is in place neatly over the rubber window protector. Make sure the front side of the mount (round nose part) is facing forward towards the front of car, and the wings and flag are pointing backward. Adjust mount to make sure it is straight up and down and slots are facing directly forward
Step 6: Press Mount to window to create secure seal with suction cup
After you slide the window clip over the window and the rubber piece, then press the window mount with gentle but firm pressure to make a secure seal between the suction cup and the window. Make sure the window clip is down as far as it can against the top of the window before you make the seal to keep from having to lift up the suction cup and re-place window clip.
Step 7: Roll up window and make sure top of window clip goes into channel of the window frame
After you secure the suction cup roll up the window almost all the way until the window stops. Press the top of the window clip against the window and try to roll window up some more to make sure that the window closes all the way and the top of the window clip slides into the channel of the window frame, making sure the mount is secured to the window.
Step 8: Adjust mount so it’s straight up and down with the slots facing directly into the wind, with the round nose part of mount facing the same direction of the front of the car and the wings and flag pointing backwards to the back of the car, then tighten bolt with 9/16 wrench.
